HUTTO — Ever since she was in second grade, Amber Breclaw dreamed of having her own animal hospital.
Now, after graduating summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a doctorate in veterinary medicine and working in animal clinics for 16 years, Breclaw’s hard-earned dream has finally come true.
Breclaw opened Paw Haven Animal Hospital at 531 Ed Schmidt Blvd., Suite 140, just a few months ago. The clinic specializes in treating only dogs and cats.
“We’re very excited to be open in the Hutto community and meeting the new people and pets in the area,” Breclaw said. “I feel very passionate about building relationships with our clients and offering the best possible medicine we can at fair and reasonable prices. My mission has always been to provide quality medicine and care with integrity and passion. That’s truly what we believe in.”
Paw Haven is one of very few locally owned animal hospitals in the area.
“The clinic I worked at previously got bought out by a corporation, which was the push I needed to make this move. I like being able to have that personal feel I can offer my patients and clients and the control to offer fair and reasonable prices,” Breclaw said. “I feel passionate about fair prices, so people can afford to get care for their pets.”
Breclaw’s animal hospital offers a wide range of advanced services to keep four-legged friends healthy. In addition to four exam rooms, the center has a surgical suite, in-house radiology suite, laboratory, pharmacy, overnight hospitalization capabilities, and is in the process of acquiring an ultrasound machine.
The clinic also features a full complement of experienced veterinary technicians and assistants, as well as front office staff to ensure good communication between the hospital and its clients.
Breclaw said the choice to open her dream clinic in Hutto was an easy one.
“We go to church in Hutto and I’m familiar with the city. We love the people and everything here. It’s a growing community and such a nice area. Then this property became available and it’s perfect. We love the location,” she said.
