What is the biggest act of love you've recently experienced?

Focus on Five

“The biggest act of love that I saw recently was when several members of our community and the I CAN, Taylor Center for Assistance and Navigation, organization in town combined with the churches. They literally scooped up all of our homeless folks in town, took them to hotels and other places to shelter and I saw them taking them food and all that … It’s just nice to see this community do that for everybody.”

— KENNETH FLIPPIN, TAYLOR

“My husband really likes to do things to make our life easier. And even though they’re not necessarily things that I would think of, I think the way that he takes care of us by doing things — like installing our generator, and making sure that we’re safe and cared for and doing these giant projects that I would never consider taking on myself — I see the amount of care he puts into that for the right reasons.”

“I would have to say our child, that we just gave birth to last year in August, Adeline. We lost twins in 2015 and it’s taken this long to have her. And just watching my husband be right beside me, giving birth to her — it’s just been a whirlwind of love … And it’s a blessing.”

I think I have to say, it would be our [he and long-distance girlfriend] decision to move in together. I think it is a very, very big … moment in a lot of relationships, and it was definitely the biggest moment in our relationship. We haven’t moved in together yet, but I would say that’s definitely the biggest act of love … in recent times, if not, in like all time for me … I think I might propose to her within this year, probably.”

— LUKE JETER, TAYLOR

“I was working and delivering pizzas and I knock on this apartment door and the lady yells, ‘Come in’ … So I just crack the door open and say, ‘Domino’s delivery.’ She was (caught off-guard) … I assumed someone had ordered them pizza and sent it to their house as a surprise, so they didn’t even really know it was coming. And immediately the little boys were like, ‘Pizza’ … I could just tell that this mother and her children were just having this lovely moment.”

— DANIELLE MCCLINTON, TAYLOR
