A TIME TO RELAX AND REASSESS

FROM THE EDITOR

The new year is upon us, so let’s hope we can go into 2025 with peace and goodwill in our hearts.

The last 12 months have been tumultuous, filled with uncertainty and even apprehension about what the future will bring.

Let the months ahead deliver blessings to us all.

Allow common sense and tolerance to reign in the coming days as we work together to solve any problems we face as a community.

It’s time to get back to normal. Winter is here, bringing with it a stillness, a time of calm as the land slumbers and awaits the rebirth of spring.

During this period, let our hearts be warm while our tempers cool.

Remain polite, respectful and offer measured responses when someone is confronting you. Keep your cool.

What you say and do will not be forgotten and will be shared.

The new year is also a time of rebirth and reassessment.

Let us put into practice our best qualities, the attitudes we wish to see both in ourselves and our neighbors: respect, tolerance, charity and humility.

Here at the East Wilco Insider, as we gather with friends and family, we want to take a moment to thank our readers and advertisers.

You have given us a wonderful gift: Your support. We can only hope that during the past three years since EWI was launched, we have lived up to your trust in our ability to provide clear and unbiased reporting.

With each issue we strive to offer intriguing and insightful stories, as well as content that informs, educates and even entertains.

Our staff has tried to make each magazine a kind of gift, brimming with solid news reporting and practical guides such as the calendars and updates on new restaurants and new businesses.

We worked hard in 2024 to offer pertinent information to enrich your lives and keep you informed about your towns, governments, businesses and schools.

Within these pages, constant readers have read the first drafts of history detailing how and why the Blackland Prairie is changing.

The goal for the coming year is to do even better, so readers can make wise and informed choices as they navigate the complexities of life in Central Texas.

Our promise to our readers is this: We’re not the mainstream media, we’re the Main Street media.
